Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 October 2026
This policy explains how Scanosphere, operated by Shrimant Ventures Private Limited, collects, uses, and protects your personal data, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. Information We Collect
(a) Account data
Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored in hashed form — never in plain text.
If you sign in with Google, we never see your Google password. Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us and confirms that your email address is verified.
(b) Payment data
Payments are processed by Razorpay, our third-party payment processor. When you pay, Razorpay collects your mobile number and payment details to process the payment and to set up any recurring payment (autopay) mandate. We receive the transaction details from Razorpay, including your mobile number. We do not store full card, bank account, or UPI details.
We keep a record of each subscription and payment: the plan, the amounts charged, any discount and the GST on it, Razorpay's reference numbers, the billing country and the state you select at checkout as your place of supply, and whether the card used was issued outside India. We need these records to provide your plan, meet our tax and accounting obligations, and handle refunds and disputes.
(c) Usage data
Which scanners and features you view, and your login activity.
(d) Content and preferences
What you save in the app: your watchlists, your saved screener layouts, your display settings, and the market you choose to view. We store these so the app opens the way you set it up.
(e) Technical data
When you use Scanosphere, our systems record your IP address and basic details of your browser and device (such as the browser type), to keep the service secure and to fix problems. We also use cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (see section 3). When you accept our Terms of Service and this policy, we record the time and your IP address as proof of that acceptance.
(f) Location data
Your country and, within it, your state or region and city; in India, also your PIN code. You give us these when you register or, if we do not have them yet, when the app asks you to complete your profile. We use them to understand the geographic distribution of our users and to improve the product. They do not decide the tax on your payments, which is based on the details you give at checkout.
(g) Referral data
If you sign up through a partner's referral link or code, we record the code you used and when, so that we can apply any discount the code carries and credit the referral to the partner. We do not share your name or email address with the partner.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the service.
- To authenticate users and secure accounts.
- To process subscription payments, work out the tax on them, and keep tax and accounting records.
- To apply referral discounts and credit referrals to our partners.
- To prevent abuse, such as more than one free trial per person.
- To send service and billing communications.
- To send product updates and marketing communications (you can opt out at any time — see section 8).
- To analyse usage and improve the product.
3. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential cookies and similar browser storage for authentication and session management — these are required for the service to function. We may also use analytics cookies or tools to understand how users interact with Scanosphere and to improve the product. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though doing so may affect certain features.
4. How We Share Information
We share data only with the service providers necessary to run Scanosphere:
- Payment processing: Razorpay handles all payment transactions under their own privacy and security obligations.
- Sign-in with Google: if you choose it, Google confirms your identity and shares the account details listed in section 1(a). Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
- Authentication and database provider: manages user identity and login, and stores your account data.
- Hosting & infrastructure provider: stores and serves the platform.
- Email delivery provider: sends our emails to you, such as sign-up confirmation and account notices.
- Accounting provider: keeps our accounting and tax records, including invoices.
- PIN code lookup service: receives only the PIN code you enter, to fill in your city and state.
Our main database, which holds your account data, is in India (Mumbai). Some providers, such as our hosting and email delivery providers, may process data outside India.
If Shrimant Ventures Private Limited is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of its business, your personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you if your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy as a result.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security obligations. We do not sell personal data to third parties. We may disclose data if required to do so by law or a competent authority.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time — see Your Rights below. When you do, we deactivate your account and remove your personal data from our active systems. Some records are retained after deletion where the law requires it or where we have a legitimate need — in particular, payment and transaction records must be kept to meet tax, accounting, and audit obligations, and we may retain limited records to prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and enforce our Terms. Retained data is not used for any other purpose.
7. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, and request erasure of your personal data, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address in section 11.
8. Marketing Communications
You may receive product updates and promotional emails from us. You can opt out at any time by replying to any such email or by contacting us directly. Note that service and billing communications (such as receipts and account notices) are essential to operating your account and cannot be opted out of while your account remains active.
9. Children
Scanosphere is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the platform or by email. Your continued use of the service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
11. Grievance & Contact
For any privacy queries, data-rights requests, or grievances under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can reach us at connect@scanosphere.com.
